Hospitality - Christian Kindness
"When I was a stranger, you welcomed me." -Matthew 25:35
Jesus Christ teaches that whenever we welcome one of the least of our sisters and brothers, we welcome Christ himself. Parishioners of a stewardship parish need to see the face of Christ in one another. A stewardship parish is a welcoming parish regardless of the parish demographics: large or small; urban, suburban or rural.
"The Catholic Church is big enough and the Mass is rich enough to not only share in the joy of the baptism of a newborn, but to support the widow who lost her husband of 50-years. Hospitality is the ability to take in and welcome both. We are called to be good neighbors." -Father Golka, St. Patrick Church in North Platte, Nebraska
The Altar Society's presence is very prominent in the day to day workings of the parish. The Altar Society is responsible for providing vestments, altar cloths, altar bread, altar wine, candles and altar decorations for Masses. We host the annual church bazaar along with the receptions for First Communion, confirmation and high school graduates.
